The Berri Library have a number of exhibitions and events running for the SA’s History Festival in May 2018.

  • Exhibition: Retro Gaming and Computers of the 70s & 80s
    Throughout May: Mon-Wed & Fri 9am-5pm; Thu 9am-7pm; Sat 9am-12pm, Berri Library, Kay Ave, Berri – Bookings required for groups only
    Relive the gaming and computers of the 1970s and 80s, the start of technology, with a look at a variety of games and computers from that era. Think Electric Dreams, Super Mario Brothers and Atari.
  • Pre-Schoolers’ Activity: Create Your Own Family Tree
    Thu 10 May, 10.30am, Berri Library, Kay Ave, Berri – Bookings Essential
    The ‘Create Your Own Family Tree’ activity will be held as part of the regular Thursday Morning Preschool story, song and craft session. Children can create their own family tree with assistance from parents or carers. Great fun and educational too. Ages 3-5yrs.
  • Research Your Family History on Trove
    Fri 18 May, 10.30am, Berri Library, Kay Ave, Berri – Bookings Essential
    This session introduces new users and beginner researchers to Trove; searching photographs, newspapers and other valuable resources for family historians and others interested in history. Bring your laptop or tablet.
  • Scrapbooking Your Family History
    Thu 24 May, 5-7pm, Berri Library, Kay Ave, Berri – Bookings Essential
    Begin your heritage scrapbooking project and learn some scrapbooking skills. Gather together your photos, memorabilia and family history to create a project worthy of becoming a family heirloom.
  • History Through Advertising
    Throughout May: Mon-Wed & Fri 9am-5pm; Thu 9am-7pm; Sat 9am-12pm, Riverland Central Plaza, Berri
    An exhibition in the local shopping centre, Riverland Central Plaza, displaying Berri’s history through advertising and commercials. A unique view into the colourful past of local retail.
