The Berri Library received a lot of water damage due to the storm that hit the Riverland on Saturday afternoon so will be closed to the public today (Monday).
We had all the drains around the building blocked by runoff debris and the water then pooled and came into the library through our front and side doors. We also had the hail fill our gutters which resulted in overflow into the building and we had a few collapsing ceiling tiles onto new stock and our staff work stations.
Staff are here doing some cleaning up today and we will have contractors in later replacing some ceiling tiles and we will will open again for business on Tuesday. We will be answering phone calls.
We apologise to all our library customers and we will be open for business on Tuesday!
